Spaghetti Warehouse
This place easily made the list of restaurants to treat the kids to. Dining with Dad waits for no one, and unfortunately Alex was still on a fishing excursion with his Grandfather. Therefore it was just Chloe and I for this one.
I got the reaction from Chloe that I was expecting. She was very confused by seeing what looked to be a run down warehouse building. When you pull off the main road, there’s a huge lot in front of the building and I believe it’s intentionally unkept. Until you drive around back, you really have no clue that there’s a restaurant in that building.
Once inside, we were able to sit inside the Trolley car. Yes, there’s a Trolley car inside with many tables inside it. It just adds to the amazing atmosphere of this place. Chloe was excited that we got to sit in there.
Ok, so the place looks bad on the outside and cool on the inside, but how’s the food? Delicious! Chloe is particular about her spaghetti sauce. Did you read the Hudson 29 post? If not, go back and catch up. You’ll then recall that she didn’t like the sauce on her spaghetti. Because of that, this time we asked for a sample of what she thought she would like, their marinara sauce. She LOVED it! I went for the lasagna, as if you really know me, anytime that’s on the menu, I have to get it!
One of Chloe’s favorite deserts is cheesecake. Guess what was on the menu? Yep, we split the cheesecake and it was delicious as well. I think they were still struggling with the Covid restrictions and staffing levels. At least that’s what I told myself. The service was a bit of a problem. I had asked for some bread to have with my lasagna as well as a refill on my drink. After waiting about 5 minutes, I decided to start eating without it. I finished my meal and still didn’t receive bread or a drink. I definitely want to go again though and show Alex as I know he’ll love this place.
On our way out, we walked around and looked at some of the other memorabilia. We had to take our picture with Uncle Sam!
