The Pub on Broadway
This week I let Alex pick the cuisine and he went with American. There’s many good choices for American in downtown Columbus, but with the forecast of rain, I didn’t want to have to walk around the streets in the pouring rain. So instead of looking in the metropolis, I decided to head east to someplace smaller with much easier (and closer) parking. So we headed over to Granville and ate at The Pub on Broadway.
Chloe was hungry since she hates Dominos pizza and that’s what was for lunch today at school. All she had was a friend’s yogurt so we left shortly after she got home from school. We were able to get seated right away and put in an appetizer order. The kids decided on the onion rings. I tried to resist but had to have a couple. They were very good.
I had looked at the menu before we went to make sure there was something everyone would want. I had a couple guesses on what Chloe would get and sure enough, my first guess is what she went with. I’m glad they were out of the chicken strips as she may have been tempted to go with that safety choice. That caused her to look further into the menu where she found the meatloaf. Sure enough that’s what she decided on.
I was pretty sure I knew what Alex was going to get, sort of. I had a feeling he’d get a burger. Given that they had a few, I wasn’t sure which one he would choose. Again, I was correct in that he went with a burger. He surprised me a little with his choice as I didn’t think he’d go with one that has mushrooms on it, but he chose the Bourbon Bacon Mushroom burger. I got to have the last bite and it was delicious!
We head to the beach here in a few weeks, so I’m on my “beach” diet already. Because of that, my options were pretty limited but still had a few to choose from. I hadn’t had any fish this week and normally do a couple time a week so I decided to go with the Lemon Pepper Salmon. I was a bit worried about it coming out over cooked, but it was not at all! It was very moist and cooked to perfection. I was very shocked and would definitely get it again.
