Rusty’s Wharf
I’ve had Rusty’s Wharf on the radar for Dining with Dad for a while and been waiting for the right time to go. I knew that it would be raining this week and so I was looking for somewhere that was convenient to get from a parking lot to the restaurant so this was the perfect time to head over to Pataskala for Rusty’s Wharf.
Rusty’s Wharf is setup to order at the front counter and then sit down and they’ll bring you your food. We ordered a large side of cole slaw to split so that came with our drinks on our tray and then we headed over to find a seat and waited until the rest of our food came.
As you may have already known from the name including “Wharf”, the specialty here is seafood. While they have a few options, Chloe went for the traditional fish and chips. Each combo comes with 2 hush puppies and you can choose on the smaller 2 piece or go for a 3 piece but she wasn’t real hungry so she stuck to the 2 piece. It was plenty for her as she still had a little bit left when she was done.
Alex went for the same as Chloe, the 2 piece fish and chips. He did go ahead and add a side of Mac and Cheese to his though. Chloe likes some Mac and Cheese and really depends on how it’s made. This is one that she liked and had a few bites of his.
I wasn’t sure what I was going to get going into it, and decided to try something a little different than Alex and Chloe in case they wanted to try some of mine. I went for the Sampler, which included one fish, one chicken, three shrimp, and some clams. Alex tried the clams and liked them. I warned him about his shellfish allergy to which he told us how when he tried mussels at work and one of Megan’s scallops, he didn’t have a reaction. So he looked it up and found that he reacts to crustaceans, but not to mollusks. Nothing like a little self diagnosis!
