Just because it’s Black Friday doesn’t mean we skip Dining with Dad! The one thing I did make sure of was that we didn’t go to a restaurant right near a shopping district. So for this week we went to Revelry Tavern over in Dublin. It was also nice having some football to watch while we dined with the NFL game on for Black Friday.

Revelry Tavern is a seat yourself place so we found a booth in a corner near the front. We ordered our drinks and looked over the menu as we waited for them to arrive. I asked the kids to pick out an appetizer. I pointed out the Thai Lettuce Wraps and after reading the description they agreed that’s what they wanted. For a non oriental restaurant the wraps were really good.

Grilled chicken, basil, Thai vegetable mix, ginger sauce.

I was a little worried about what Chloe might choose. I had looked at the menu before we went and saw a couple things she might try so I pointed those out to her. She ended up going with one of the items I thought she might, the southern fried chicken sandwich. She said it was fantastic, especially with the pickle.

Hand-breaded chicken breast, pickles, carrots, guajillo pepper aioli, brioche bun.

I knew Alex wouldn’t have a problem finding something. He was pretty quick to narrow it down to the tacos. They have a choose 3 and there’s 4 options. One was a shrimp taco though which he’s allergic to so it made it pretty easy to pick the other 3 as his choice. He took the first bite of the braised short rib one and about choked because he said it was spicy. He told us that the rest wasn’t as spicy as the first bite but that ended up being his favorite of the three. Since he didn’t get a side, he ordered a cup of the Chicken Tortilla soup.

It had been so long since I had just a good ole fashion burger that I decided to go with the Revelry Burger. The burger was delicious, just not quite as large as it looked on the menu. I went with the fries which come with it and they were delicious too.

Smashed double patties, American cheese, tomato, pickle, secret sauce, brioche bun.
