Forno Kitchen + Bar

Alex and Chloe were on spring break this week which meant no Friday pizza lunch. I decided to take the opportunity to find a pizza place for Dining with Dad this week and came across Forno Kitchen + Bar when doing some google searching. It was ranked quite high on the list I was looking at and after looking at their menu, I knew this was going to be this week’s choice.

We got there a little after 4pm and asked for a table for three. To our surprise, they said that “Happy Hour” was fully reserved and our only option was to sit at the bar which was first come first serve. Luckily there were seats open so we went with that. I’m guessing that the reason for the fully booked reservations is that their happy hour is a really good deal. Their drinks, appetizers, and pizzas are all half off for happy hour between 4 and 6. So if you go, make a reservation! Sitting at the bar did allow us to watch all the action of the pizza making and cooking in the stone fired oven.

I had the kids look over the appetizers but nothing really stuck out to them. I was wanting to try one or two of them, but the kids were leaning towards two different pizzas so I didn’t want to have too much food. Chloe likes her pizza’s simple and with very little cheese, so she ordered a Pepperoni pizza with light cheese. Alex was between three pizzas and asked which was my favorite of the three. He was between the Margherita, the Chicken Alfredo, and the Hawaiian. I was in for some spice so we went with the Hawaiian which had some jalapeño’s. Both pizza’s were very good. The crust from the fresh dough might have been the best part. We all liked them and were able to bring some home for leftovers.

I definitely want to go back when I have one or more adults with me. The description of their spiked strawberries sounds amazing!! And as I said, I’d love to try some of their other dishes. Our dessert tonight was decided by Chloe before we entered the restaurant. She saw that Jeni’s Ice Cream was right across the street. So yes, after dinner we walked over there and we all got some deliciousness.
