Pies & Pints
The kids traveled today to see their grandma down in Chillicothe with their mom. Their grandma fell and broke her elbow last week and had a doctor’s appointment today so they went to visit and take her to her appointment. Since they spent 2 hours in a car already, I wanted to keep this weeks’ Dining with Dad close so they didn’t have to be in a car much more. I had a few local places in mind and gave them the choice of cuisine as the three I had in my mind were all different. One of the choices was Mexican which they had for lunch in Chillicothe so it eliminated that one. Ultimately they wanted pizza so we went with Pies & Pints over in Easton.
The one good thing about going to a pizza joint is you pretty much know what you’re getting before you go. I think the hardest decision was on me, to decide which pint I wanted! The kids menu obviously included pizza and gave you the option of a single topping. I let Chloe know that she could get more toppings by splitting a pizza with us, but she really like the idea of having her own personal pizza. So she went with the kids pizza and went for the classic pepperoni. It was much cheesier than she wanted and she almost didn’t eat it. Alex and I talked her into trying it and she liked it!!
Alex wanted more than one topping so he was going to split something with me. I can eat pretty much anything so I gave him the menu and told him to pick something. He didn’t like any of the pre-made specialty pizzas and wanted to create his own. He got more than 2 toppings in so I told him when the waitress came back he could just tell her. He ended up with pepperoni, sausage, green pepper, onion, and pineapple. Turns out, they don’t have green pepper (we’re gonna have to complain about that one!) so we got all but that. We both enjoyed the pizza. Chloe mentioned the difference between hers and ours in that hers was cheesy and ours was very saucy.
They had a 10 inch and 16 inch option, and given that I hadn’t eaten all day, I figured between Alex and I we could polish off the 16 inch. What I didn’t realize is that after Alex had lunch and they went to DQ later in the afternoon, he got a chicken tender basket! So by the time we got to dinner, he wasn’t hungry. He only had about a half a slice of ours and one piece of Chloe’s. I guess the silver lining is that I have dinner for tomorrow now!
