Rusty Bucket
This week’s selection had us head back to a family favorite of ours. While we’ve been to Rusty Bucket before, we’d never officially went as part of Dining with Dad so it was time. The kids were so excited by the selection that they screamed out “Rusty Bucket!” when we started pulling into the shared parking lot. While there’s a couple other places right there, none of them are restaurants we would go to for Dining with Dad so they pretty much knew as soon as we pulled off the main road.
I knew before we even went that the kids were going to order an appetizer, and I knew exactly which one. Sure enough, they asked right away for the fried pickles. I like how they use full pickle spears, but Alex said he prefers the chips, mainly because they cool off faster. The temperature of them was a bit hot for him. The ranch helped cool them off though and he was able to enjoy them.
Along with knowing they were going to get the pickles, Chloe knew before we even headed inside what she was going to get as well. As we hopped out of the Jeep, she commented on how much she loved their fish and chips. She got the kids menu, but surprisingly it was not an option on her menu, so she ordered the adult Fish and Chips. I didn’t think she was going to be able to finish it all herself, but she had no problem with it!
I had decided that I was going to get a pizza. I asked Alex if he wanted to split it with me, but he wasn’t sure until he took a look at the menu. After looking at the menu, he decided to share the pizza with me after hearing which one I was getting. I went with the Sicilian pizza. How can you go wrong with 3 meats and peppers and onions? It was delicious! We were lucky enough to hit happy hour as well and pizza’s were half off, so bonus for us!
