Melting Pot

For the next installment of Dining with Dad, I wanted to introduce Alex and Chloe to the fine art of fondue. I knew this would be a fun experience for them. Of course we had to try a little bit of everything! So let’s walk through the three courses we had.

First course

The first course we chose the Spinach Artichoke. Our server recommended it as the mildest for the kids. Obviously anyone that knows Chloe knows she wasn’t going to eat any of the cheese. So Alex and I had this one to ourselves. She did help us eat the food we dipped into the cheese. Strangely, the apples in the cheese were particularly good.

Second course

For the second course, we had to start off by choosing a cooking style. Again we took the advice of our server to select something mild enough that the kids would enjoy. We chose the Court Bouillon. They do offer a kids portion, even though you don’t see it on the menu. They each got to choose three different proteins. Chloe went with steak, chicken, and pork, while Alex chose chicken, steak, and DUCK! I have to give him credit for trying something new, even though he didn’t like it so well. I went for the Classic which you can find on the Melting Pot menu.

Third Course

The best was saved for last. And this one comes with a show. The kids really loved the fire display. And the chocolate was amazing. Their favorite dipper was the strawberries. They even asked the server if they could have had all strawberries instead of the other items, to which he told them they could have! They already want to go back to make good on that offer.
