I ran across Kissho Asian Bistro & Sushi Bar a few weeks ago and had it on my list of places to try for Dining with Dad. It’s always nice to find a good restaurant so close to home, especially when the weather has been rainy all day. We didn’t have to worry about any traffic jams and could head out later than normal. That’s always a good start to Dining with Dad.

We were seated at a table right near the front window. As we waited for our drinks to arrive, we looked over the sushi menu to have as an appetizer. We had Alex look over the Specialty Rolls to see if there was one that he liked that he could eat, given his allergy. After much back and forth, I showed him the Smoked Salmon Nigiri. He ordered that and loved it! Chloe decided on the Seared Salmon Roll. We both agreed it was delicious as well. It was a great start to the meal.

We each decided on a hot entree as well. Alex’s choice came with both Miso soup and salad and Chloe and mine came with the same salad, with ginger dressing. It was fantastic for a side salad. Chloe even commented on how much she liked the dressing because the ginger wasn’t too strong. Alex and I agreed.

Chloe went immediately with the Lo Mein as her pick. I mentioned to her that there was an entire other side to the menu so she started looking at the other options. I’m glad I mentioned it to her as she saw the picture of the Sesame Chicken and decided to go with it. Lo Mein is an option instead of getting white rice so she got what she originally wanted as well for a small additional fee. She was very happy with her choice and had so much leftover she’ll have a nice meal tomorrow!

Alex was between a couple of dishes, both steak. It was either going to be the Hibachi Steak or the Steak Teriyaki. He ultimately went with the Steak Teriyaki with fried rice. He too was thrilled with his choice. His only complaint was that the broccoli was cold. Other than that it was great and he ate all of it.

Kissho has quite a menu with many different options. I wanted to take advantage of that vast menu and get something that I hadn’t had before. After much back and forth, and back and forth, I finally decided on the Szechuan Fish Fillet. It had all the spices, Szechuan sauce, jalapeños, and red chili peppers. The fried cod was delicious with all that spice! I would definitely try that one again! I’d highly recommend it to anyone.
