We headed over to Upper Arlington area this week to try out Iacono’s. There’s just no good way to get there during rush hour so it took a good 40 minutes for what should probably take 20. But we eventually made it. We walked in to what was a rather strange restaurant to be honest. When you walk in the front door, there’s just a small lobby with the kitchen straight ahead behind the counter where you order. We asked about eating in and they told us to head to the left for seating and after we order up front, they will bring us our food. We took some menus and headed over to find a seat.

We didn’t have to worry about finding a place to sit as it was completely empty. It was a bit weird to be honest. Before we left, there ended up being two other tables taken out of maybe the 40 tables that were in there. It was a rather large space. Most people were coming in for carry out. We decided on our choices and went up and ordered and then waited for our food to come out.

The kids wanted to order the wedding soup but they told us they didn’t have it anymore. They also ordered lemonade which was on the menu and were told they don’t have that either. Again, this was a weird dining experience. We asked for the fried pickle chips and they actually had those! They were good too and we got plenty of them so that turned out well.

Chloe was pretty quick to decide on what she wanted after looking at the menu. She didn’t even toss around several ideas and ask me what I think (which is typical) but rather went straight for the spaghetti. She mentioned of course about how it’s her go to at any Italian place. She really loved the homemade noodles and how thick they were. It’s always nice having homemade noodles over the boxed stuff.

Alex took a bit longer to decide what he was going to get. I pointed out to Chloe that they had a pesto dish as I know she likes that. Alex grabbed onto that one apparently and went the with Pesto Penne with Chicken. Unfortunately he didn’t really like it to much. I think the pesto was fine but the chicken was pretty dry. He let me try it and I agreed it wasn’t the best. He ate about half of it and left the other half.

I went straight to the pizza section. I was reading in the reviews that the pizza was good and I noticed people coming and going getting the pizza which was a good sign. The only decision I had to make was which pizza to get. I was almost sold on the old world pepperoni, the kind that curls up and holds all the grease! That’s the best pepperoni!!! However, I wanted a bit more so I went for the EBA, “everything but anchovies”. It was really good. The crust is a “cracker” crust which is thin and flaky. While I’m not a huge fan of the crust, the pizza was really good. I’d try it again for sure.
