Enrico’s Pizza and Restaurant
Anyone in the mood for some Italian? We obviously were so we headed to Enrico’s Pizza and Restaurant for this week’s edition of Dining with Dad. It’s all the way across the city so I wasn’t looking forward to that drive during rush hour but it turned out to not be too bad. We arrived and there were still a few tables open and after speaking to a customer that was waiting in line for a carry out order, we were told it was a sit yourself kind of place. We found an open table right by the front window and waited to be served.
The dining area isn’t that large, maybe only 15 tables or so. Unfortunately there was only one server working the entire restaurant so it did take a while to be waited on. She worked her butt off though so I can’t complain. We gave her a nice hefty tip to show her our appreciation. I ordered a pitcher of beer knowing that it might be a while between drinks but they were OUT! But I was able to get a nice Italian beer instead which I hadn’t had since I was in Italy and it was very refreshing!

We had plenty of time to look at the menu so we were ready to order as soon as the server came back. Chloe was first up and I was pretty sure she was going to go for the simple spaghetti and meatball which she did. She also ordered some garlic bread to go with it. Each dinner comes with a roll and a salad also so we just did the one order of garlic bread for all of us. Chloe loved the spaghetti. You can see from the picture that it was definitely fresh homemade pasta which was delicious as she let me try a bite.

Alex was up next and was between a couple dishes. He was asking me what came “with the gnocchi” and I told him sauce! I’m not sure what he thought usually comes with gnocchi but that was enough to change his mind. He ended up going with the Chicken Parmesan. He also let me try his and it was fantastic!

As for me, I was really thinking about getting a pizza just to mix it up a bit. I looked at their options and realized they didn’t have jalapeños as a topping! I could have asked I suppose in case they just didn’t have it on the menu but decided to just skip that idea. After all, they had my favorite Italian dish on the menu so I went with that, the lasagna!! It wasn’t the best I’ve had but it was ok. The sauce is very sweet, almost like a Chef Boyardee sauce. I prefer a bit less sweetness in my sauce, but like I said, it was decent. I do think next time I’ll try the pizza.
