Given that this was Chloe’s birthday week, I gave her the option of picking the cuisine this week. She gave me options of either Italian or Chinese. I knew that she loves Molly Woo’s so that was the decision for Dining with Dad this week. I haven’t been there in probably 5 years so it sounded fantastic to me too.

We noticed the patio dining when we walked up to the restaurant and it was such a beautiful night, I was hoping the kids would go for eating outside. They rarely do because they are so spoiled with air conditioning that any bit of heat turns them off. But the night was a perfect temperature and I was able to easily talk them into going outside. Chloe did want me to snap a pic of the inside so I did while we were waiting for them to assign us a table.

We had a reservation so we got seated right away. At 5:30, it actually wasn’t that crowded and the people right in front of us got a table right away too without one so not sure if I needed one that early but better safe than sorry. We were waited on quickly and already had our appetizer in mind. Chloe doesn’t go anywhere with sushi without getting a California roll. So we put in our drink and app order and it was ready shortly after. We were all hungry and had a few (or more) of the California roll before Alex reminded me that I forgot the obligatory picture. So here’s less than half a California roll.

Chloe has been to Molly Woo’s quite a few times and has a regular. She usually gets the kids Crispy Fried Shrimp. She’s really been into orange chicken however so she was going to look for that on the menu. They didn’t have orange chicken on the menu, but they did have pineapple chicken so she went with that. Both are fruit so it’s the same right? She got it with fried rice, which was so good that she took home the rest that she didn’t eat.

Alex was looking all over the menu but wasn’t sure what he wanted. He mentioned how he really liked Panda Express’ honey chicken and wished that Molly Woo’s had that. He obviously wasn’t looking at the menu very well as it was right in the middle of the menu. I showed him where it was and he got excited and ordered that. He also go fried rice but didn’t eat but a bite of it. He said it just was bland and not as good as Chloe’s. I tried it and he was correct. Chloe’s had much better flavor and it was full of egg as it should be. The one difference was that because Chloe has the pea allergy, I’m guessing that they made hers special and that Alex’s came from a big batch that they mix up and just serve to everyone. It was dry and contained ZERO egg in it. I can’t blame him for not eating it.

I really had no idea what I was going to get. You can never go wrong with some fried rice, but after Alex’s side of rice, I’m glad I didn’t go that route. The red snapper caught my eye but not quite enough for me to pull the trigger on it. I saw the Poke Bowl section and have just been a big fan of those recently. They have three to choose from, but only one that was considered spicy, which I’m a big fan of, so I went with the Spicy Salmon. It was delicious! These bowl always amaze me as it seems like the bowl is endless and takes a while to actually eat. I’d definitely get this one again.
